Another Scottish Game Fair has come and gone, and what a thoroughly enjoyable weekend it was. Set in the magnificent grounds of Scone Palace
it was a privilege to once again spend three days at the fly-tying benches, surrounded by people who share the same passion for our wonderful craft
For me, the greatest pleasure wasn't simply tying flies, it was catching up with so many friends from the fly-tying community.
Some I've known for years, while others I was meeting for the first time, yet conversation flowed as easily as if we'd always known one another.
Throughout the weekend there was a constant stream of visitors stopping by for a chat, to swap ideas, admire each other's patterns and reminisce about memorable days on lochs and rivers. Those conversations are every bit as enjoyable as tying the flies themselves.
I'm incredibly grateful to Fulling Mill for their continued support and for giving me the opportunity to represent the team at such a prestigious event.
It was an honour to be part of a talented line-up of fly tyers, all helping to celebrate and promote the craft we love.
As I packed away my vice at the end of the weekend, I left Scone Palace with renewed enthusiasm, fresh inspiration and a reminder that while the flies may bring us together, it's the friendships that make weekends like this truly memorable.
